Math Awareness Month

The theme for this year is Math and Design.  We will have a design contest using math equations!  Here are the guidelines:  Use www.desmos.com/calculator to make cool designs.  That is it!  Check the 8th grade lounge for some examples.  They made clown faces with desmos. 

After you make your design, paste a screenshot into Paint and save as a JPG.  I will email instructions on how to submit later. 

Due date:  May 25th

Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place as judged by the math teachers.  Good luck!

MGP Events

Thank you to all of you that participated in the previous MGP sponsored events.  We went to Real Food Farms, Camden Yards, and had a bowling party so far this year. 

We have two remaining events. We will return to Real Food Farms to see how our hard work paid off. We will meet at the facility on May 18th at 9:00am to see the progress and do some more volunteer work. The afternoon activity is still pending, but we will do something fun, and we will have lunch.

The following Saturday, May 25th, we will go to Outward Bound at Leakin Park for teambuilding, low ropes and high ropes challenges, and a cookout. Space is limited so sign up today!

MathCounts State Competition

On Saturday, March 17th, William Little, Dennis Gong, Lynnette Jiang and Alastair Cho will represent Calvert School in the MathCounts State competition.  This is only our fourth team in the last nine years to qualify for state competition.  Good luck team!
